ALL IN Eats Farmers

Growing our sustainable food that qualifies as medicine are our regenerative agriculture and permaculture design farmers

The ALL IN Eats Circular Food Economy model starts with the production of sustainably-grown foods. Dig Deep Farms (DDF) has created earth-friendly regenerative agriculture and permaculture methods for growing healthy vegetables in the Alameda County communities of Ashland, Cherryland, and San Leandro, and we’re now looking for ways to expand this farming model throughout the County through partnerships and farm expansion.

Expanding Urban Farming in Alameda County

Dig Deep Farms (DDF) currently has ~8 acres of land available being farmed, with two small farm parcels in the flatlands and one large parcel in the hills of San Leandro. DDF also has a 500 fruit-tree orchard at City View Farm in addition to vegetable plantings. We’re hoping to expand soon!

Forming a Farmer Collective

By creating a demand for regeneratively grown foods for food prescriptions, there will be a need to build a network of urban farmers to supply this food to support the health of Alameda County residents. There are many other farmers within the community, and we’re actively connecting with them to grow a Farmer Collective.

Supplying Food As Medicine

Food As Medicine is designed to increase consumption of fruits and vegetables, reduce individual and household food insecurity, and reduce healthcare utilization. Food as Medicine goes beyond dietary health, targeting improvement in diet-related health outcomes and reduction in the incidence of depression and social isolation, which both have a negative impact on diet-related conditions.
